Northland Cardiac Center has the first full-service cardiovascular program in the Northland. We specialize in preventive, diagnostic, interventional and surgical services for cardiac conditions. When possible, we utilize minimally invasive procedures. And in August 2007, we became one of only three hospitals in Missouri and Kansas to receive Cycle II Accreditation with PCI from the Society of Chest Pain Centers.

We are the only facility in Kansas City that has a 64-slice CT scanner available for immediate use in our cardiac cath lab department. This is especially important for diagnosing patients who are not having a heart attack, but a dissecting aneurysm. Having this technology available in the department saves vital time not transferring the patient back to the Emergency Department for the CT scan, rather getting them into surgery quickly.

We are one of the few cardiac care facilities that utilize 3D Echocardiography. This technology delivers three-dimensional images of the heart in real time. North Kansas City Hospital was also the first in Kansas City to use the Wolf Mini-Maze procedure to treat atrial fibrillation.

When chest pain happens and seconds count, you can't wait for help. North Kansas City Hospital is one of only three hospitals in Missouri and Kansas to receive Cycle II Accreditation with PCI from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. The national accreditation was awarded because of our speed and efficiency in treating chest pain and heart attack symptoms. We earned that designation for several reasons including:

  • The rapid response by our physicians and staff from the time you arrive in the Emergency Department until you reach advanced heart care in our Cardiac Lab - we have recorded times which are significantly better than the recommendation of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
