Sometimes care for a heart condition may require extra monitoring to help ensure things are going smoothly. Coumadin®(Warfarin) is prescribed for patients at risk for forming blood clots, but levels of this drug must be carefully monitored. Northland Cardiac Center's Coagulation Clinic provides Coumadin® results within 90 seconds. These results help our skilled staff determine appropriate medication levels and any needed dosage adjustments while you're still at the clinic. Various types of patient conditions require that blood-clotting levels be checked on a regular basis. Atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat), stroke follow-up and deep vein thrombosis are the most common reasons patients visit the clinic.

Clinic visits are reimbursable under Medicare Part B coverage and through many health insurance providers. Contact your physician for a referral. For more information, call the Coagulation Clinic at 816-691-5232.
