Blue Distinction Award
Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care® have demonstrated their commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients. Each facility meets stringent clinical criteria, developed in collaboration with expert physicians' and medical organizations' recommendations, including the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). To date, North Kansas City Hospital is one of only three hospitals in the Kansas City area that have achieved this distinction.
Physician Recognition
Dr. Michael Farrar, MD, cardiologist with Northland Cardiology coauthored an article published in the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography titled, The Safety of Definity and Optison for Ultrasound Image Enhancement. The purpose of the analysis was to examine the incidence of severe adverse events in patients after exposure to ultrasound contrast agents. |
