The Northland Cardiac Center will be located on the 11th floor of Health Services Pavilion when construction is complete January 2011. The new area will bring convenience to patients and families by consolidating many of the Hospital's cardiac services.

"When you consolidate services you gain efficiencies in staff, equipment and most importantly, you get even better patient outcomes," says Donna Cash, the Hospital's nursing director. Premier cardiac centers like the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic use this type of care model.
According to Cardiologist Michael Farrar, MD, another plus will be the ability to perform hybrid procedures. "We will have the surgery capabilities to do a bypass surgery and a stent at the same time instead of asking the patient to return for another procedure," says Dr. Farrar. "Our goal for patients is to provide them with the best care and the best outcomes which will be even further enhanced in this new area."
